Sample text — to be replaced before the shop opens
Client to supply. This text is a placeholder. Daholyne Fashion's own terms and conditions will be prepared by its solicitor, or adopted from a template pack in its own name, before the shop opens for orders.
What the terms must cover
- Who we are. The trader's legal name, trading name, geographic address, email address and telephone number, and its company number, registered office and VAT number where it has them. On the site these come from the legal particulars record.
- The goods. That each product page describes the main characteristics of the goods, and that the photographs show the actual goods.
- Prices. That prices are in pounds sterling, whether they include VAT, and that the total price including delivery is shown before payment.
- Ordering. The steps to place an order, how to correct mistakes before paying, when the contract is made, that orders are concluded in English, and whether the contract is kept and can be accessed afterwards.
- Payment. The payment methods accepted, and when payment is taken.
- Delivery. That the shop delivers to UK addresses only; the delivery charges and when free delivery applies; delivery times, and what happens if delivery is late.
- The right to cancel. A summary, referring to the cancellation and returns policy and its model cancellation form.
- Faulty goods. The customer's rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and how to report a fault. Reporting a fault is not limited to the cancellation period.
- Responsibility. What the trader is and is not responsible for, without limiting the customer's statutory rights or any liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.
- Complaints. How to contact the trader with a complaint, and how complaints are handled.
- Law and courts. The law that governs the contract, and where a claim can be brought.
- Changes. That the version of the terms which applies to an order is the one shown when the order was placed.
